In October 2010, Michelle Levy began stirring up a new kind of energy around the Twin Peaks character, Agent Dale Cooper, when she embarked on a campaign to find him. Her performance took place throughout New York City, and through imagery disseminated of young Cooper making local appearances in present day. Michelle used these photos as “evidence” that Cooper was trying to tell us something.

Michelle’s “Search for Agent C” is not fan art. It is an attempt to explore the very real emotional consequences of attachment to and projection onto fictional characters in the media we consume.

Now Twin Peaks is returning. After the years of Michelle’s dedicated efforts to bring Cooper “here” into the ordinary world, his story will continue on the screen. Feeling a responsibility to complete the circle, Michelle has created a campaign for Lynch so that she may enter Twin Peaks to meet Cooper. Michelle began sharing the link in September to be passed on to Lynch.

The collective statements of support that accompany Michelle’s message illustrate the depth and impact of her “Search for Agent C.”

The artist will continue her outreach efforts until she hears from Mr. Lynch.
